So, not exactly sure how to start this, but I think it’s time for me to resign. I’ve had a great time with all of you, especially the ones still hanging around from v1! It really only just hit me that I started on this server at 13 and now I’m almost 17… yikes.
So my resignation has come about for multiple reasons, mainly because of school and a loss of motivation. Many do not know, but I’m currently in my final year of schooling. So basically I’m approaching my final exams (the HSC) which will determine my rank within the state, which will then allow me to enter certain University courses. Yes it’s pretty confusing lol. So pretty much, I’m not doing so well managing both staffing and studying. I’ll either be offline for multiple days because of school, or I’ll be spending too much time in-game, affecting my schooling. This doesn't mean I’ll be quitting every game completely, but currently I just can’t manage staffing frequently. I’m forcing myself to come online at 1am my time, leaving me with 4-5 hours of sleep daily… and yeah I think you get the point lol.
Also, my lack of motivation is another reason for my resignation. I’ve been playing Minecraft for a while now and I probably won’t be quitting completely just yet, but I’d prefer to be playing with friends for fun rather than feeling like it’s a necessity for me to log on daily. I won’t be quitting opblocks, I justwon’t be as active.
Mochi has pretty much covered all the shade that I would have mentioned myself, but I’d just like to bring up the toxicity on the server. From V1-V5 the community has changed greatly. Not going to lie, but some of the people I’ve had to deal with on factions were some of the most toxic people I had ever met online. It seriously got to the point where people would ear rape in calls and spam you in full caps just because they didn’t get their way. I know I’m probably just being petty, but it’s annoying for not only staff, but all players. Mochi and I have had enough rant sessions about people like this and to be honest, if it wasn't for our frequent rants to each other I’m sure we wouldn't have lasted this long lol.
OH and for all of you that keep calling me out for abuse *cough* fLuX *cough*... I made you all a little something. Yes it’s cringe, I’m sorry, I filmed it when I woke up ok !
Soooo to sum it up, I’ve had a great time staffing and being a member of opblocks over the years. I’ve made some great friends and lost some, but hey, that’s life for you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I wish the staff team the best of luck, as you’re really going to have a bit more pressure on you now. Oh and those staffies that kept begging for promotions…. Congrats, majority of you got them
