Ok, I was going to wait until I had completed another thread regarding this post, but it seems like it be a little late. (Being honest I think I already am)
Yes, this thread is about the server, community, staff, everything. Nothing is going to be left out, fingers will be pointed, if you have an opinion, cool, find my care.
Staff
My god, this is honestly unbearable. A manager who was last seen on January 19, 2019. The manager is the most essential position for growth towards the server. Obviously Casey saw that the server was in a ditch and kept digging the hole more and more. Pretty disappointing when you make a several promises and don’t keep them. Seriously, get your rear into gear, if you don’t want to be here, resign. No point in milking the money.
An admin who has been staff for a grand total of 3 months and 6 months the first time around and coming on a year and a half this time around. When you are bringing out P2W content that one player asked for, hosting events and hoping to revive the server. At this stage it just looks like you are riding the rollercoaster with the bloke above, but actually staying active. There isn’t any shame in resigning, just don’t waste time on something you don’t believe in. Especially when I offered help with the forums and the spam bots and your response to my method of preventing spam bots is “I would but I and the staff team are too lazy”, pretty disgusting.
Oh boy oh boy, the staff team. When you look over maturity, amount of posts within a certain timeframe and hours online within a week, all of these staff members should be demoted. None of them meet the requirements that the server upholds. I don’t care if you have 50 staff members or 5, what are you showing everyone? That since the server is dead you can not help at all with anything and just take the buycraft money as you wish? Pathetic.
Community
Yeah, we are toxic at times, but the only problem is that we are this way because of factors, factors that aren’t being upheld. When no staff members are doing their jobs, no fair content for the non-donators is coming out and even after a community meeting, nothing has changed except adding a lousy pickaxe crate. Yes, lets entice people to spend money on high level pickaxes at the end of the season, when practically everyone has maxed out stuff. Want the community to act better? Start doing your jobs.
Events
Seriously, this has to stop. Not only are you giving people an incentive for showing up to a server on one day, but doing events WILL NOT BOOST THE PLAYERCOUNT. Event’s barely last 1 hour, all this does is flux the playercount on 1 day by about 5 players then straight back to 0 the next day. No, I am not bagging the builds that Lynnie has done or timeflies for actually hosting the events, but you have to think long term and actually think “Hey, is there a point in doing this right now?”
P2W Aspect
After scrolling through the buycraft store, the only non-P2W items on the store are: Pets, Disco Armor and Titles. That’s it. All of these are purely cosmetic whereas you have a good ¾ of the store based around P2W features. For what? Money? You can say that you are doing these things because the players wanted you to, but let’s be real here, they didn’t.
Plugins / Suggestions
33 pages of accepted suggestions, yet barely 2-3 pages of these are actually on the server. Seriously, if players want the days where 1.0 and 2.0 were the best, bring back those aspects. No point in adding something that isn’t going to bring back anyone. Be unique, ask for specific thoughts on suggestions and plugins, ask which ones they like. DON’T ASSUME.
Forums
My god, this actually makes me depressed. Spam bots, inactivity, everything. Let’s be honest, it is more so a question of “What isn’t wrong with the forums?”.
Factions
Yes, people will be looking at this one thinking what about this? Just remember back to exactly how many players Factions actually got before it was removed for no reason really. A quite successful server for OPBlocks at the time and what happened? It clearly kept players for a long period of time, so why not bring it back? No, I am not joking.
Advertising
Other than the what, 4-5 YouTubers with barely any subs/views a video to necessarily appeal to any broader audience, I can see how these didn’t help. No votes means that the server doesn’t get advertised through MC Servers and other server ranking websites. No half decent YouTubers means no broad appeal to a bigger audience. Essentially, you are losing players if none of these are taken seriously. Yes, I understand that YouTubers are a lot harder to get than it was a long time ago. If you want to keep a YouTuber, you have to release constantly new content on a regular basis to keep them intrigued and their viewers intrigued. If you can get the YouTuber to play the server for fun and not for the money, you essentially have won. Just remember, you need to spend money to make money.
I will be sending this Alex / trkey, this will be put in the discord, in the shoutbox, everywhere I am allowed. Being honest, this thread is pretty important if anything wants to happen.
