Hi all! My name is Saito and I’d like to introduce myself in this announcement and let everyone know what’s going on with OPBlocks. Essentially I will be taking over management / ownership of OPBlocks after purchasing the server from Alex (trkey). Alex and I have been good friends for several years now, and recently we were discussing how much he wanted to see OPB succeed, but that he just couldn’t handle the workload with his other networks too…

So who are you?
As said my name is Saito! I’ve been playing Minecraft since 2010 and I’ve owned my own servers since 2013. At one point I owned one of the largest and most successful networks in the world, so you can rest assured that I have the experience needed to handle OPB with the love, attention, and technical awareness it deserves. I’ve got a huge vision for where we can go with your help, and more to come on that later in this post.
What can we expect to change?
Right off the bat… nothing! My primary goal right now is to learn everything I can about your community and integrate myself with the current staff and players. I want to get to know everyone. I want to get to know the history of the server. I want to know your ideas, suggestions, your complaints, your criticism, and everything else in between. To do this I won’t be changing things up right away until I feel confident I can take OPB in the right direction. My goals are community centered above all else because servers are like a second home to the player, and I want it to feel comfortable and original when we do begin to make changes.
What sorts of good things are in store for OPB?
I’m so glad you asked The best things I’m bringing to the table are development, investment, and attention. My partner Hihi will be joining us on the team as a co-owner, and he will also be our full time developer. This means you’ll have someone working on OPB full time to give it the attention it deserves. On top of that we absolutely intend to get paid advertising to boost the player counts. As some of you may know this can be very expensive, and as part of our commitment to the community we will have advertising ready for the very first reset we perform. We hope this pleases everyone and helps to earn your trust, because above all else we want the community to grow and be happy. I will also be bringing 6+ years worth of custom code to OPB if you guys want some of the features we have developed for our other servers. This includes a custom anti cheat, awesome Prison features, and so much more. We will only add these things after polling the community and getting your feedback, because like I said, this is about you and what you want.

Hi guys, I'm hihi, and as Saito mentioned I will be working on the development side of things and I’m hoping to get some awesome and fun unique content into the game! Saito and I have worked together for many years and we both have the same goal in mind.
