Hi everyone,
Welcome to Revamp Update #2. We’re making great progress on the re-creation of the network, and wanted to share a quick new update on a feature that will be released alongside our launch.
Daily Challenges
We are completely re-working the current Missions and Quest Books systems and pushing it into one big feature labeled “Daily Challenges”. Through Daily Challenges, people will be able to complete a set of unique challenges for every day they log onto the server.
Challenges can be started by visiting the Daily Challenges NPC at server spawn. Each player will receive a set of 5 random challenges, which vary in difficulty and type. The available difficulties range from easy to hard, and types go from player kills and block break, to candy farming and rankup challenges. Players get the opportunity to decide which difficulty of challenges they would like to complete for that day, however this can only be changed once every 24 hours.
For the first time ever, challenges can now also be time and location based. This allows us to make exciting new challenges with increased difficulty and pressure, including the potential to receive very exclusive rewards.
All of this functionality can be accessed from a simple and easy GUI, which tracks progress as you go and provides the necessary information you need in order to complete the challenge (such as the type, requirements and rewards). We hope that this encourages players to come back every day to check out what challenges are available to them.
Our goal is to create great, competitive new challenges that offer real rewards for player’s efforts. That said, we are still working on completing our final database of challenges that will be available through this system. We would love to hear your feedback and find out what challenges you would like to see on the server! Be sure to let us know in the comments below, as we’ll be reading all your remarks!
Forums Update
In other news, some of you might have noticed that we recently processed a forums update. We decided to sweep things up a bit and work on making everything more organised. You will see that all of the different forums are now merged under the “Community Discussion” category, and all support and application inquiries are now available under “Support & Applications”. Archive forums and forum tags have now also been simplified.
In addition, we have added a variety of new features, including a double post merge and similar threads functionality, and a live updating favicon - which shows you a little red notification dot if you have any unread messages or alerts.
Final note
We are continuing to work hard on the network and should be able to reveal a release date for in the coming days! In the mean time, let us know if you have any feedback! We are eager to hear what you guys think!
Thanks,
Jesse
