can you go to your settings, then open chat settings You should see this menu attatched Try setting the chat to being shown, as in the top left of the screenshot, as i think you may have it set to commands only

Hi, sorry for the slow reply to your query! To set your island to public. You may do /is public to set your spawn for people, do /is sethome (this needs to be both where, and the viewing angle you want, so if you look up, they spawn looking up)
